We deploy Windows 7 and various applications using the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit. The target computer needs an internet connection towards the end of the process – e.g. for activating windows (we don’t use KMS) and other licensed software. It doesn’t get one, i presume either because it is not yet in a managed OU, or because the signed-on user is the local administrator. Temporarily adding an exception by MAC address works, but is impractical. Discovering and excepting URLs for everything that needs a network also seems too heavy-handed.
Can you suggest a solution, please? A windows command-line to authenticate should do the job, but i have no clue how to write one.
